0830-0835: Welcome ~ Margaret McCormack, ONIG President

0835-0930: Opening Remarks and Lean Methodology ~ Cara Flemming, Vice President Performance and Chief Information Officer, The Scarborough Hospital.

0930-1030: PaJMa ~ Dr. Caroloyn McGregor and/or Innes Jowitt, University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT).  Presenting PaJaMa:  a Patient Journaling Modeling - a process improvement methodology to be used in clinical settings.

Biography: Dr. Carolyn McGregor is the Canada Research Chair in Health Informatics based at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology,

Canada . She has led pioneering research in event stream processing, temporal data stream data mining, business process modelling, patient journey modelling and service oriented architectures. She progresses this research within the context of health and medicine for advanced support for clinical management and research. Dr McGregor is an international leading researcher in the areas of critical care health informatics and patient journey modelling for which she has specialised for over 10 years. She is the Canadian representative for the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBS) and was the inaugural IEEE EMBS representative for IEEE Women in Engineering. In 2008 she was awarded a multi-million dollar IBM First of a Kind Research (FOAK) Award. In 2009 she received the IBM Infosphere Innovation award for her UOIT based team’s role in project Artemis.

1100-1200: The Scarborough Hospital Experience ~ Nancy Veloso, Director of Medicine and Jackie Phan, Project Manager.  How Lean Methodology was applied in order to streamline the Alternate Level of Care (ALC) process. 

1200-1315: Lunch and Networking Break

1315-1415: Ontario Shores Electronic System Implementation ~ Amardeep Joshi (Nina) - Application of PaJMa in implementation of moving from paper records to all electronic system

--Enter in through main entrance. Proceed down hall to elevator. Take elevator to 1st floor. When coming off of elevator turn right to end of hall – Irene Stickland Centre. Signage will be in place on education day.
